Developed in partnership with Nini Andrade Silva, born in the island of Madeira, and one of the most famous interior designers worldwide, this new collection pays tribute to one of the island's icons, the banana tree. Various features, such as its dark wrinkled bark, large verdant leaves, delicate stem, and the banana itself are masterfully transformed into large platters and trays, small bowls and cups, gorgeous centrepieces and pitchers which recreate a tropical environment.

- About Bordallo Pinheiro:
Raphael Bordallo Pinheiro, one of the most influential people of nineteenth century Portuguese culture, will forever be intimately associated with caricature and artistic ceramics. In 1884, Bordallo began his ceramics production at the Fábrica de Faianças, revealing pieces of great technical, artistic and creative quality.
Adopting a modern and entrepreneurial approach, Bordallo Pinheiro plays an essential role in the revitalization of Portuguese ceramics and of the artistic heritage of its factory.
Bordallo Pinheiro remains faithful to tradition through the use of ancestral manufacture techniques and the naturalistic motifs at the root of the brand. These decorative pieces continue to feed our collective imagination and to take the prestige of Portuguese culture and industry one step further.
