Since we began producing our dated annual enamel boxes in 1977, they have helped our customers mark life-defining moments and historical events alike.
In celebration of our 75th anniversary, our 2025 annual year box is inspired by the Greek legend of “Alycone and Ceyx” from which our name is derived.
The legend tells the story of Aeolus, father of Alcyone, who every January calmed the winds and the waves so that his daughter, in the form of a kingfisher, could safely make her nest. Hence, the term “halcyon days” came to signify a period of great peace and blissful contentment.
The lid of this box depicts Alcyone swooping down over her beloved Ceyx. This box has been beautifully handcrafted in England by our Halcyon Days artisans and is the 49th edition of this cherished annual tradition.
Once opened, the inscription of ‘A Year to Remember’ is revealed. As ever, the piece has been entirely handcrafted in England by the Halcyon Days artisans.
